Dog walkers get a new leash on life

Editor,

Once again Becky Gillette has done a wonderful job reporting (feral cats vs. wild birds issue). Many thanks! We are grateful to all the groups she mentioned that spay/neuter feral cats and support them.

All Good Shepherd animals are spayed/neutered and the shelter runs a low cost spay/neuter clinic for county pet owners & feral cats. Besides donating money, a great way to help would be volunteering at one of the Good Shepherd thrift stores – we really need more volunteers. Over 50% of the budget monies for Good Shepherd’s work (including subsidizing the low cost spay/neuters for county pets) comes from the store sales. Call or text store manager Janet Chupp at (479) 244-7156 if interested.

The shelter also welcomes volunteers, e.g. as a dog walker – just a few minutes a day can make a huge difference to the dogs!  Call the shelter staff at (479) 253-9188 for more information.
