Dems can vote in Republican primary

Many people across Carroll County are paying closer attention to local government right now. Recent events have raised understandable concerns about judgment, professionalism, and how citizens are treated when they speak up. Carroll County needs leadership that is steady, respectful, and focused on solutions, not conflict.

To my Democratic friends, even if your preferred candidate does not prevail, the question remains whether the status quo should continue, or whether it’s time to support leadership that brings calm, professionalism and accountability back to county government.

My name is Dianna G. Baird, and I am a conservative running for Carroll County Judge because I believe government should work for the people, protect taxpayers, and respect private property rights. For me, conservatism means fiscal responsibility, transparency, and leadership.

The County Judge serves as the county’s chief executive officer, overseeing operations, contracts, and budgets. That role requires broad operational experience, steady judgment, and the ability to manage complexity while maintaining public trust.

With more than 28 years of experience in county government, I have worked across multiple departments and understand how decisions affect roads, property owners and taxpayers. I know how county government functions day-to-day.

This campaign is about leadership standards. Registered Democrats are encouraged to participate in the primary election. Arkansas law allows voters to change their registration to Optional—even on Election Day—so they may vote in the Republican primary and still vote their party preference in the general election.

I respect differing viewpoints and believe civil engagement strengthens our community. Carroll County deserves leadership that listens, plans ahead, and governs with integrity. That is the standard I bring to this race.

The deadline to register to vote is February 2, 2026. The Preferential Primary Election will be held March 3, 2026.
