Editor,
I just got through with the morning paper reading more about the Orlando shootings, etc. Although tragic, I would like to address the fact that they are depicting old veterans, rednecks, and anybody else with a gun as a well armed militia full of bigots, racists, terrorists and so on. I myself, and I suspect many other veterans, take offense to this.
I own guns, and I am a U.S. Army airborne veteran, I served a tour in Vietnam, and I swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies both foreign and domestic, and I will energetically meet the enemies of my country.
And those remain my intentions, I do not recall an expiration date in my oath of enlistment.
