Constables on Patrol

June 27

10:18 a.m. – Resident just east of downtown complained of a dog barking all morning. Constable found no one home at the dog’s house. Animal Control will follow up.

9:34 p.m. – One neighbor claimed the other one keeps parking in her spot. Constable spoke with both and advised the other one to stay out of that spot.

June 28

12:17 p.m. – Constable responded to an alarm downtown. Nothing to report.

6:58 p.m. – In a 911 call from the western part of town, a motorist who was parked claimed another driver was harassing and threatening him and challenging him to get out of his vehicle. He did not want to file a report, but the constable performed extra patrols out there to watch for the adverse vehicle.

8:35 p.m. – Central dispatch passed along the call about a baby having fallen. Constable called the caller who said the baby was okay, it just hurt its knee and no assistance was necessary.

June 29

2:57 a.m. – Resident near downtown asked a constable to drive by her house. Constable complied and saw nothing unusual.

4:09 a.m. – Alarm was triggered at a business in the commercial area. Employee asked constable to check out the building, and he found it secure.

5:32 a.m. – Constable assisted a deputy in handling a fight just outside city limits.

6:11 p.m. – Individual turned in a set of keys found downtown. Constable called a phone number found with the keys, but the recipient knew nothing about missing keys.

June 30

3:46 a.m. – Call came in about two males burning something near a dumpster behind a building along US 62. Constable responded.

3:58 a.m. – Person at same address as before again asked for a constable to check for trespassers. Again, nobody there.

12:37 p.m. – Alarm sounded at a business downtown, and constable learned from the owner it was a false alarm.

1:49 p.m. – There was a 911 hangup call, and the constable went to the location and determined there had been no emergency.

1:54 p.m. – Washington County asked for assistance watching for a juvenile female who ran away from West Fork and could be headed to Eureka Springs.

July 1

12:33 a.m. – Constable assisted a deputy in handliing a dispute between two individuals.

12:43 a.m. – Constable again checked the same address near downtown for a possible trespasser.

8:22 a.m. – Tree branch fell across both lanes of Main Street on Planer Hill. Constable and Public Works responded to clear the way.

12:33 p.m. – Call came in about two disorderly females yelling at people in a parking lot. Constable went to check on them but they were gone.

2:38 p.m. – Witness saw a passing vehicle knock off the mirror of a parked vehicle. Constable determined it was just the cover of the mirror that popped off, and the owners did not want to file a report.

July 2

3:55 p.m. – Central dispatch reported an open 911 line at a residence. Homeowner told responding constable she did not call 911.

9:40 p.m. – Intoxicated individual carrying an open container walked into a restaurant cursing and causing a scene, so he was arrested for public intoxication and open container.
