February 6
8:42 a.m. – Witness downtown reported a male wearing a hoodie and his dog were hiding under stairs behind a building. Constables also found a female with them. The male was arrested on a warrant out of Berryville PD.
3:37 p.m. – A motorist bumped her vehicle into another one.
5:00 p.m. – Traffic stop resulted in the arrest of the driver for driving on a suspended license.
6:09 p.m. – There was an accident on US 62 in the commercial area.
February 7
9:13 a.m. – Individual said the person against whom she had a protection order almost drove into her vehicle in a parking lot. The store clerk added the person might be intoxicated. Constables watched for the adverse vehicle but did not encounter it.
9:31 a.m. – Observer told ESPD a large truck that had difficulty backing down a street slid into a ditch. By the time constables arrived, a person driving a Jeep had pulled the truck out.
10:36 a.m. – Individual claimed an item was taken from her vehicle.
12:49 p.m. – Constable checked on a vehicle parked in a fire lane.
1:20 p.m. – Motorist was arrested for violation of the noise ordinance, driving on a suspended license, no insurance and failure to pay registration.
1:36 p.m. – Animal Control had a conversation with a resident about leash laws.
3:01 p.m. – Call came in about a log blocking a lane of traffic on Spring Street.
6 p.m. – Constable made extra patrols in the vicinity of a certain residence.
8:36 p.m. – Constables made a welfare check on a person reportedly threatening suicide.
9:40 p.m. – Constable responded to a downtown location because of a sick animal.
February 8
1:33 p.m. – Resident reported a theft.
8:18 p.m. – Restaurant manager told ESPD two people who had been at the restaurant for three hours were acting suspicious. Constable had a word with them and sent them on their way.
February 10
4:14 a.m. – Resident near downtown asked for a constable because her dog was barking and she suspected someone might be in her yard.
2:59 p.m. – Constable captured a loose and unattended dog.
3:16 p.m. – There was a vehicle versus house accident.
7:29 p.m. – One motorist claimed the following motorist was tailgating and driving recklessly. Constable watched for but did not encounter a vehicle matching the description.
8:14 p.m. – Central dispatch warned ESPD of a possibly reckless driver head toward town, but constables never saw the vehicle.
February 11
7:24 a.m. – Constable responded to an accident on US 62 at the western edge of town and arrested the driver for driving on a suspended license, careless driving and no insurance.
2:26 p.m. – Constable arrested an individual for obstructing governmental operations.
5:05 p.m. – A person was causing a disturbance at a tourist lodging.
6:21 p.m. – Constable picked up a stray dog.
10:11 p.m. – Individual was arrested on a CCSO warrant.
10:36 p.m. – Constable followed up on a 911 hang-up call.
February 12
12:25 a.m. – Traffic stop resulted in the arrest of the driver for DWI, driving left of center and implied consent.
1:52 p.m. – Staff at a downtown bar reported an individual engaged in a verbal dispute had threatened harm with a weapon, but had already left the property. Constables searched for but did not find him.
3:20 a.m. – Constables checked on a suspicious vehicle and arrested a person for DWI.
11:06 a.m. – Guest at a tourist lodging claimed someone took a cell phone from the pool area.
11:44 a.m. – Worker at Lake Leatherwood City Park reported someone attempted to gain access to a shed.
12:40 p.m. – An intoxicated guest at a motel was causing a disturbance. The constable told her to stay in her room, but she did not. As a result, the constable arrested her for public intoxication.
12:51 p.m. – Animal Control responded to a loose dog report. He warned the dog’s owner about leash laws.
1:23 p.m. – Another dog ran free in a motel parking lot. Animal Control again warned an owner of local leash laws.
5:15 p.m. – Passerby noticed a truck backed up to a vacant building. Constable spoke with the couple in the truck and advised to leave the property.
6:43 p.m. – The driver in front claimed the motorist behind her was tailgating. Constables watched for and stopped the misbehaving motorist.
8:11 p.m. – Several calls alerted ESPD to possible gunshots very near downtown. Constables found nothing suspicious in the area.
