July 25
8:38 a.m. – Constables and EMS responded to an accident on US 62 just east of the commercial area. Driver did not need any help and was able to drive away.
12:45 p.m. – Constable performed a welfare check on an individual who was recovering from a fall. She said she was okay.
7:15 p.m. – Mother called ESPD to let them know her son had agreed to let his grandfather from Pine Bluff pick him up the following day.
July 26
12:09 a.m. – Constables arrested a man on warrants from CCSO and ESPD along with other charges.
July 27
8:33 a.m. – A semi parked in a fire zone was just leaving as the constable arrived.
9:05 a.m. – Constables learned of a possible disturbance at a clinic. They learned the situation occurred in Madison County but could occur locally as well. Constables told the reporting person to file a report with Madison County but also let ESPD know if she needed help at the clinic.
2:46 p.m. – Individual was arrested on a warrant for battery.
4:43 p.m. – Driver backed her vehicle into another one in a parking lot.
11:41 p.m. – Constables responded to a 911 call and arrested a person for third degree domestic battery.
11:42 p.m. – Person told ESPD her co-worker was showing signs of being suicidal. Constable checked on the co-worker who refused medical attention but agreed to have a friend stay over for the night.
11:48 p.m. – Motel employee told ESPD children staying there were running around the premises and throwing ice because the parent would not control them. The manager took care of the situation before a constable got there.
July 28
6:33 a.m. – Motel guests were concerned about a suspicious male lurking nearby. Constable searched for but did not encounter anyone fitting the description.
8 a.m. – Constable responded to the same location to put down a sick wild animal.
10:04 a.m. – Individual was arrested on a felony warrant out of CCSO.
1:23 p.m. – Because of a welfare concern, the constable gave a mother and her baby a ride home to avoid the heat.
1:34 p.m. – Hotel staff reported vandalism.
2:41 p.m. – There was a two-vehicle accident with injuries on Main Street.
July 29
7:52 a.m. – There was a disturbance at a residence near downtown, and constables arrested an individual for public intoxication, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
9:48 a.m. – Downtown merchant reported someone slept on a bench outside the store and left items behind. Constable on patrol disposed of the items.
10:41 a.m. – Two females were arrested for shoplifting.
12:24 p.m. – There was a one-car accident on US 62. No injuries.
2:51 p.m. – Itinerant canine wandered into a business downtown. Animal Control picked it up for safekeeping.
6:00 p.m. – Alarm at a bank was triggered and the constable could not find what did it. Keyholder reset the alarms.
10:45 p.m. – Employer asked for a welfare check on his employee who had called and seemed upset. Constable found the employee doing okay.
10:55 p.m. – Traffic stop resulted in the arrest of the driver for driving on a suspended license.
July 30
11:05 a.m. – Motorist claimed a pedestrian with a dog had almost fallen in front of her vehicle near downtown. Constable encountered the individual and found a taxi to give him a ride home.
12:04 p.m. – Constable fixed a parking meter.
5:33 p.m. – Resident near downtown reported a verbal disturbance nearby for the second night in a row. The squabblers agreed to a cessation of hostilities.
July 31
12:33 a.m. – Constable initiated a traffic stop and arrested an individual on an ESPD warrant for third degree battery.
8:36 a.m. – Vehicle owner noticed her license plate was missing.
9:56 a.m. – Observer told ESPD the same small dog had been wandering near an intersection above downtown for at least two days. Animal Control searched for but, alas, did not encounter the vagabond cur.
1:07 p.m. – Resident in a neighborhood complained his neighbor’s dogs bark all the time after they are put outside and left alone. Animal Control left a message for the owner.
3:36 p.m. – Motorist noticed an injured deer on Hwy. 23 North. Constable was called upon to perform his frightful duty.
6:02 p.m. – Constables found a man laying down in a parking lot. EMS responded and checked the person. He was fine except for laying down in a parking lot.
8:10 p.m. – Constables and EMS responded to an address for an allegedly suicidal female. EMS transported her to ESH.
August 1
12:57 a.m. – Person told ESPD he suspected a female acquaintance had taken his vehicle from a motel parking lot and driven to Missouri. Constable filed a report.
1:41 a.m. – Motelier claimed someone had broken into one of the rooms and was still hiding there. Constables responded and discovered the invader. She was arrested for criminal trespassing, possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
