September 16

3:17 p.m. – A hit and run was investigated and a report taken.

3:23 p.m. – Officer responded to a domestic call on Pivot Rock Rd.

5:59 p.m. – Officer went to the previously mentioned address to pick up statements.

11:22 p.m. – A possible disturbance was checked out.

September 17

1:34 a.m. – A business alarm was looked into.

10:37 a.m. – When officer arrived at a business regarding a shoplifting call, the individuals paid for what they had and were trespassed from the property.

3:48 p.m. – When a welfare check was made the individual was fine.

6:43 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported and found to be fitting and proper.

10:45 p.m. – Officer found a runaway juvenile and took her back home.

September 18

1:56 a.m. – A Van Buren business alarm was checked. Fine.

12:58 p.m. – An individual walked into the PD to report terroristic threatening.

5:10 p.m. – An erratic driver on US62 was reported but not located.

6:50 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported on Mill Hollow Rd., but not located.

8:19 p.m. – Suspicious noises were found to be normal.

September 19

2:16 a.m. – A burglar alarm went off unprovoked.

8:05 a.m. – A 911 call was presumed to be a juvenile playing on the phone, and although the juvenile wasn’t located no distress was found, either.

8:59 a.m. – Well, a vehicle was parked out in the roadway so an officer said it would be better off closer to the curb and the driver moved it.

11:42 a.m. – A box truck was reported for blocking traffic on Spring St. but the truck was gone on arrival.

12:22 p.m. – A possible domestic was reported to be in progress, and when officer interrogated all parties he determined it was verbal only.

3:38 p.m. – A business alarm went off downtown but the business was found to be secure.

7:35 p.m. – A home alarm went off and the home checked out.

8:59 p.m. – A disturbance at a highway business was quieted.

10:53 p.m. – A 911 hangup at a motel was checked on.

11:37 p.m. – A possible theft at a motel was investigated.

September 20

1:49 a.m. – A business alarm was triggered for no known reason.

9:16 a.m. – A neighbor was having issues with another neighbor but no report was required.

9:35 a.m. – An officer went to check on a female walking in the roadway and when he got there she was out of the road and had made it to her destination.

11:42 a.m. – Someone complained about a musician’s music being too loud, but it was found to be within legal noise parameters.

12:22 p.m. – A stray white pit bull mix was incarcerated at the ESPD kennel.

8:23 p.m. – A man at a motel got himself arrested for not handling being drunk very well.

September 21

2:06 a.m. – A possible theft was reported at a hotel.

2:44 a.m. – Burglar alarm, same highway business, same outcome.

3:03 a.m. – A verbal dispute in a parking lot was nipped.

9:49 a.m. – Officer took an ESFD report for an emergency call they got.

11:23 a.m. – A stolen debit card got a report.

12:10 p.m. – A vehicle thought to be abandoned was red tagged.

2:58 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported so the officer checked it out, it was OK and the owner was advised.

3:05 p.m. – A parking error resulted in a citation.

4:31 p.m. – Parking was less than stellar on Spring St., and responsible parties were advised.

4:50 p.m. – A possible missing person was reported but no report was needed at this time.

7:50 p.m. – A reckless and erratic driver was reported on US62 but that vehicle was not detected.

10:27 p.m. – An accident on upper Spring St. got a response and a report.

September 22

12:31 a.m. – A disturbance at a motel required intervention.

12:34 a.m. – A woman was arrested for failure to appear on driving left of center and not paying her fines.

2 a.m. – Officer went to assist EMS with a woman reported passed out downtown but prior to arrival she got a taxi.

2:36 a.m. – Burglar alarm. Highway business. All OK.

1:54 p.m. – A Penske truck driver got in trouble for blocking a side street.

4:57 p.m. – A woman called and said she and her husband were fighting and needed an officer right away. Officer separated them.

9:29 p.m. – A car alarm went off and no one was around, so officer waited to see if there would be another call.

11:50 p.m. – A male was reported hanging around at the train depot and officer determined he was doing nothing illegal but advised him to move on.

September 23

1:19 a.m. – Security alarm went off at a highway business, the building and property checked out fine.

2:40 a.m. – A nurse at ESH requested assistance with a discharged female who was beating on doors and cussing staff. Officer made contact with her and helped get her a taxi to take her home.

3:18 a.m. – Taxi driver reported the fare he picked up at the hospital had stolen his vehicle, which was spotted near the train depot. After a short pursuit there was a 1-vehicle accident and a woman was taken into custody for theft and fleeing.

3:31 a.m. – Caller said her son had called her to say he was in a hotel and his girlfriend had taken his vehicle and debit card to get him something to eat because of his low blood sugar, but had not returned. EMS assisted with the blood sugar issue and meanwhile the girlfriend returned with the vehicle and some food.
