July 4
3:50 a.m. – Constable on patrol checked on an alarm going off at a business on US 62. Building was secure.
8:39 a.m. – Individual reported his vehicle had been vandalized overnight while parked in a lot downtown.
9:05 a.m. – Constable checked on vehicles reportedly parked partially in the roadway near the courthouse, but found the roadway was clear.
10:55 a.m. – A concerned mother reported her 14-year old son went missing after the parade. He turned up later.
1:06 p.m. – A small untethered dog rampaged through a neighborhood, and responding constable never saw it.
7:45 p.m. – Individual turned himself in on a Eureka Springs warrant for third degree battery.
7:55 p.m. – Hiker thought a motorhome parked at Lake Leatherwood City Park was parked in a suspicious location. It was gone when a constable went to check on it.
8:11 p.m. – Resident in the western part of town claimed tools had been taken from her garage.
11:11 p.m. – In a neighborhood above downtown, a resident saw fireworks but constable never found the source.
11:19 p.m. – A mother asked for a welfare check on her daughter. Constable found the daughter at a business waiting for friends to pick her up.
July 5
3:49 a.m. – Alarm was triggered at a residence in the western side of town, but the resident told the constable everything was okay.
9:44 p.m. – A group was shooting off fireworks in the northern part of town. Constable told them they ought not do that anymore and they stopped.
July 6
6:08 a.m. – An aunt in Michigan asked for a welfare check on her two nieces whom she had not been able to reach by phone. Constable tried both their addresses to no avail, but the aunt later called to say she had spoken with them.
9:27 a.m. – A father filed a missing person report on his 13-year old daughter.
11:34 a.m. – Resident on the Historic Loop told ESPD a vehicle was parked denying him access to his driveway. Constable had already checked on the vehicle earlier and it had not moved, so he called for a tow truck. Vehicle owner arrived just in time to claim his vehicle.
4:28 p.m. – Constables got word of an erratic driver. When they arrived at the scene, EMS also arrived and determined the driver had a medical issue. EMS took him to ESH.
6:32 p.m. – Constable could not determine the source of a dead animal smell. He called in Public Works.
7:34 p.m. – There was a report of vicious dogs on a street near downtown, but the constable never encountered them.
10:16 p.m. – As the result of a traffic stop, the driver was arrested for DWI, refusal to submit, speeding and driving left of center.
July 7
1:50 a.m. – Constable on patrol secured an open door of a vacant building.
2:40 p.m. – Business reported a shelf was stolen.
3:08 p.m. – Constable tried to perform a welfare check on a person, but he was not at home. The subject’s family found him at work.
5:53 p.m. – Another traffic stop resulted in the arrest of the driver for speeding and driving on a suspended license.
July 8
12:14 a.m. – A back door alarm was triggered at a business in the commercial area along US 62. An employee confessed he did it by mistake.
10:45 a.m. – A large truck hit the foot bridge on Main Street and kept going. Constable searched for and found the truck.
2:09 p.m. – A man went to the station regarding a ticket issued in his name. Constable determined he was not the individual who had been pulled over, it was his brother. A new report was filed.
4:05 p.m. – Constable got word there might be a domestic altercation at a motel. After speaking with the couple, he learned it had been a false alarm.
July 9
2:10 a.m. – Apartment dweller claimed his neighbor kept banging on his door. Constable spoke with both parties and learned they each annoy the other. They agreed to stay in for the night.
12:43 p.m. – Motorist told ESPD a pickup banged into his vehicle three times in a parking lot.
4:36 p.m. – Clerk at a business on US 62 reported a theft. Female suspect ran away east down the highway. Constable searched for but did not find her.
9:20 p.m. – Central dispatch asked ESPD to check for a puppy allegedly stolen from Berryville. Constable went to the address and learned the owner of the puppy had moved.
July 10
1:31 a.m. – Traffic stop led to the arrest of the driver for DWI and careless driving.
2 a.m. – From the same apartments as the previous day, ESPD got another neighbor complaint. This time it was about loud music, but things were quieter after a visit from the constable.
11:24 a.m. – Someone thought dogs in a vehicle were in distress. Constable found the windows down and the dogs contented.
12:20 p.m. – Individual returned to the property of a tourist lodging where he was not allowed. Constables warned him he would be arrested upon his next visit.
11:09 p.m. – Alarm company alerted ESPD to a residential alarm. Resident told ESPD it had been triggered by someone cooking.
