12:43 a.m. – Constable on patrol responded to a report of loud motorcycles downtown, but they were already gone when he arrived.
1:17 a.m. – Guest at an inn was being too loud. Constable arrived. Quiet prevailed.
2:05 a.m. – Another innkeeper had guests being too loud in the parking lot. Once again, a visit from the constable, and the parking lot became a model of tranquility.
8:13 a.m. – Two dogs ran unleashed near US 62, and Animal Control caught one of them.
8:17 a.m. – Individual reported vandalism to a motorcycle.
12:24 p.m. – A person was blocking access to a trail downtown and yelling at people who approached him. The constable asked him to stop it and move along. He complied.
3:07 p.m. – Individual was arrested on a Benton County warrant and handed over to authorities at the county line.
5:35 p.m. – Caller from a restaurant asked for a constable because of possible child abuse. Constable spoke with those involved and determined the child was okay.
9:40 p.m. – Traffic stop resulted in the arrest of the driver for speeding, driving on a suspended license and no proof of insurance.
May 31
12:14 a.m. – Caller told ESPD her roommates were having a domestic disturbance. Constables arrested one of them for third degree domestic battery.
9:52 a.m. – Constable took a report of stolen medications.
2:25 p.m. – Clerk at a store reported a shoplifter, and the constable arrived in time to issue a citation. All items were returned to the store.
4:25 p.m. – Witness saw a motorcyclist get stuck on a neighborhood street. Cyclist told the responding constable he had just got out of the hospital. Constable helped him get the motorcycle up and going again.
5:13 p.m. – Teenagers wearing masks were allegedly yelling inappropriate things at passersby downtown. They were gone when the constable went to look for them.
June 1
1:05 a.m. – A vehicle was parked by a fire hydrant. Constable got it moved.
11:40 a.m. – Animal Control searched for but did not encounter a reportedly loose and unfettered dog.
June 2
7:14 a.m. – Neighbors near downtown had a fight. They had separated by the time a constable got there, but he got statements from everyone.
7:34 a.m. – Someone apparently burglarized a vehicle parked at a motel.
8:36 a.m. – Constable took a report of a theft.
10:05 a.m. – Constable took a report of suspicious circumstances at a hotel.
June 3
12:39 a.m. – Passerby noticed the smell of natural gas at a gas station. ESFD responded and found a truck causing the smell.
2:05 a.m. – Resident told ESPD there was a suspicious male on her front porch. Constable spoke with the male and gave him a ride to a friend’s house.
9:25 a.m. – Concerned observer reported a male in jogging clothes on a bench in the North Main parking lot with his head flopped over and back. Constable discovered the person was coherent and lived across the street. He went on his way.
9:35 a.m. – Witness alerted ESPD to possible squatter situation at a rental house. Property manager said the eviction notice had been processed and the renter already left, but he allowed other people to stay there. Constable told the property manager this would be a civil issue with the renter.
3:53 p.m. – Constable watched for but did not cross paths with an allegedly erratic driver.
5:19 p.m. – A mother told ESPD her daughter went home for lunch and the daughter’s boyfriend smashed her windshield with a rock and threw her belongings on the ground. She went back to work and refused to file a report.
5:19 p.m. – Two motorcyclists failed to negotiate the entire curve on Planer Hill. The responding constable found them sitting on curb with their bikes. They refused EMS and did not want a report. A friend was on the way to pick them up so they could get a trailer for their bikes.
June 4
4:39 p.m. – Car was bumped in a parking lot. No report needed.
6:01 p.m. – Resident near downtown claimed there was a camper with beer stickers and naked women parked down the street. There was trash around it, and the area smelled. Constable called for a tow truck, but the owners arrived first and promised to leave.
11:18 p.m. – Guest at a hotel reported her vehicle had been hit while parked in the parking lot.
11:52 p.m. – Witness downtown reported a hit and run by an allegedly intoxicated driver. Constables never encountered the suspect vehicle.
June 5
12:38 a.m. – Traffic stop resulted in the arrest of the driver for DWI #2, refusal to submit, driving left of center and no seat belt.
5:10 a.m. – Alarm company alerted ESFD to a fire alarm. Source was identified.
7:01 a.m. – Constable went to the scene of a vehicle off the roadway. He towed the vehicle and cited the driver.
9:23 a.m. – ESPD got a report of luggage stashed just off one of the trails near Black Bass Lake. Constable found the luggage and determined it was not stolen.
10:42 a.m. – Hotel staff claimed a couple did not pay for their room upon checkout.
3:53 p.m. – Concerned witness said a male with a black backpack in the balcony of the auditorium seemed suspicious. Constable spoke with the individual who said he had a friend in the show and was waiting for him.
4:03 p.m. – Guest at a Bed & Breakfast reported a missing cell phone.
June 6
2:43 a.m. – Individual was arrested just north of downtown for sleeping in public, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.
