Mayor Butch Berry said Monday that he was notified last week about grant funds the city could use to rehabilitate the dam at Black Bass Lake. To proceed, Berry needed council to approve a resolution authorizing him to apply for the grant and accept it if it were awarded, stating that the city acknowledged the grant was an 80/20 matching grant.
The grant is through the 2018 Disaster Supplemental grant program of the Economic Development Administration. The maximum the city would receive would be $625,647.86. The city would be responsible for $156,411.96 for a total for the project of $782,059.82.
