CAPC doles out marketing funds

The City Advertising and Promotion Commission met last Wednesday where newly appointed commissioner Jeff Carter (pictured sitting next to DeVito) helped determine the 2020 non-profit event funding awards to the tune of $26,895 of the $30,000 funding budget. 

After hearing presentations from many applicants, the recipients of marketing support were Books in Bloom for $2,200, Chamber of Commerce Visitor Guide for $5,000, Out-in-Eureka for $5,000, Eurekan Allsports for $5,000, The Witches Escape for $2,250, Springtime in the Ozarks for $1,445, Tour of Homes for $4,000, and Voices from the Silent City for $2,000. It was discussed that the Visitor Guide did not meet the specifications for event funding but was approved with the understanding that the funds may be allocated from another budget line that more directly meets its qualifications.    

Commissioners met for an executive session to discuss personnel and Chair Carol Wright said there was “No action taken.” 

A workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 4 p.m., and a regular meeting for Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 6 p.m.
