Candidates in race despite transgressions

The past two weeks have been tough for some candidates for sheriff in the upcoming Republican primary.

Matthew Dunham lost his job with the Centerton Police Department after driving home in his patrol car while his personal vehicle was in the shop. Dunham addressed his actions on his Facebook page, where he also noted that he continues to actively campaign for the office.

Robert Kennedy was arrested April 25 for terroristic threatening, residential burglary, second-degree battery, and two counts of assault on a family or household member.

County Clerk Connie Doss confirmed that the ballot will include Kennedy’s name, and she also noted that since he has not been convicted, he is still eligible to compete in the election.
