Urban Dictionary defines Deadhead as “a person who greatly enjoys the music of the Grateful Dead and particularly the genius of Jerry Garcia.” That’s an apt description of Friends of the Phamily, a jam band coming to our fair city this weekend. Founded in 2008, the band grows and evolves as they find their sound, at this point an eight member group with multiple instruments and vocals. They pay tribute to the Grateful Dead’s funky psychedelic rock, occasionally adding some originals.
