Boy Named Banjo in the Park

Eureka Springs Bluegrass Weekend is upon us, and as we celebrate the music brought our way by immigrants from Ireland, Scotland and England, Basin Park is the place to hear how that music sounds today. Music in the Park starts on Friday at 4 p.m. and continues Saturday.

Boy Named Banjo is five young men from Nashville who bring a fresh sound with hints of rock and folk-pop. Their shared love of bluegrass and folk had them playing on the streets of Nashville until they were old enough to play in the bars. Now with two successful releases, they are coming into their own and the energetic beat makes it hard to sit still. Hear them in the bandshell Friday at 5:30 p.m.

The fun continues at Chelsea’s with DiMe Trip, a Jamgrass Folk band from right here in Eureka Springs. Five guys with a common goal to create and share new music, there sure is some fast plucking. They take Chelsea’s stage at 9:30 p.m. on Friday. See below for Saturday’s Bluegrass schedule and see what it is that Bill Monroe and the Blue Grass Boys started all those years ago.
