Alan Henry Muyskens was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., on July 18, 1944, to Bud and Trudy Muyskens. He unexpectedly passed away Jan. 16, 2020.

He has two sons, Mike Muyskens, his wife, Nicole; Robb Fynewever Muyskens, his wife, Sara; and five grandchildren Nathaniel, Emma, Lauren Nicole, Luke and Isaac. Also three wonderful sisters Joan, her husband, Rollie; Ruth, her husband, Glenn; and Melanie, her husband, Rick; his partner in life Glenda Allison, her family, and a community of friends.

Al grew up in the Grand Rapids – Holland area of Michigan and worked as a social worker there for 10 years. He moved to Eureka Springs, Ark., around 1979.

Al was an expert in everything he loved and enjoyed his life to the fullest. A sailor, carpenter, designer, paddler, connoisseur, bicyclist, audiophile, and friend to all. He was a Finder of Solutions.

Big Al – Your Big Spirit, Big Love, and Bright Light continues to shine within us and through us.

A gathering for all who knew and loved Al will be held at Chelsea’s Corner Café, on Sunday Feb. 23, at 2 p.m.
