Being active saves democracy

Editor,

Total gratitude for Vietnam vet Gerry Fonseca being a model of what we should all be doing – speaking out.

As the widow of a Vietnam vet who died at age 38 from cancer due to agent orange exposure, my appreciation for Gerry and the other vets who are speaking out in efforts to save the democracy from fascism is beyond measure. These patriots should not have to do the heavy lifting to bring attention to the crisis in our country courtesy of our non-popularly elected president… time for the rest of us to plug in with public presence.
