Additional courtesy car on airport wish list

The Carroll County Airport Commission’s final meeting of the year took only a few minutes.

Commissioners briefly returned to a discussion of a recent sealing project. The product did not have the final appearance commissioners had expected, but the sealer served its purpose in protecting the runway. New environmental regulations had narrowed the list of approved products.

Airport Manager Mark Pepple said fuel sales have slowed, but he hopes to make another fuel purchase while costs are low. Pepple said he has installed a new ground cable at the fuel pump. He also reported on the airport’s new Internet service, which is faster and cheaper.

Commissioners said they have received extensive positive feedback about the availability of courtesy cars, which other small airports do not offer. Chairman Dave Teigen said the commission should investigate obtaining another courtesy car in the coming year.

The commission’s consulting engineer did not attend, but the new hangar project is on track for spring.
