On Thanksgiving Day, a very successful Ninth Annual Don Gammie Turkey Trot was held at Lake Leatherwood Park.
We were thrilled to see so many runners and walkers take part — including a 5-pound dog who ran the entire 5K distance with his people! It was a glorious morning.
We thank our wonderful sponsors for helping make the Turkey Trot a success. Cornerstone Bank, Equity Bank, Roadrunner Inn, Starkey Marina, Bay Realty, and Beaver Lakefront Cabins gave generously. We are so grateful to live in a community that supports its nonprofit organizations.
Thanks also to the many people who volunteered to help with registration, serve as emergency support personnel, call the race, staff the finish line, and so much more. And a special thank you to Adam Biossat, who has been marking our trails so well for so long!
